I'd enabled HTTP compression. Just trying anything to figure out what's making IIS keep shutting down.
Apparently enabling compression had the side effect of enabling caching, which we definitely don't want. So what was happening was that when you called a page, the server was caching it (as opposed to your browser caching it) and the next time you called it, you got the same page instead of it calling the database and rebuilding the page from scratch.
Confirmed. Just checked the database utilization graph and it dropped pretty low until I disabled compression.
