Thank you for your inquiry to the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) concerning Pharm Control Ltd. (Pharm).

Securities legislation in Canada is regulated provincially. As such, the cease trade order (CTO) placed on Pharm by the OSC applies in Ontario only. The OSC does not have the authority to stop trading in other provinces or the United States.

Individual dealers in other jurisdictions may make a business decision to stop trading shares of specific securities based on the knowledge of a CTO in another jurisdiction. You may therefore wish to contact your local securities regulator if you reside outside of Ontario.

So do I. While I can understand that they may not want to continue to fill buy orders, why stop the sell orders? If there is a DTCC order, then who is acting as the settlement agency for the other brokers who are still allowing sell and buy of PMCL shares?
