Actually, the size of the particles, while important to the rate of sedimentation, is not critical to colloid formation. It is the chemical stabilization and appropriate zeta potential that are more critical. Now, if you want a really generic patent, come up with a colloid that is not stabilized by chemical (electrochemical I should say) means (g).
