#186064 RE: Joe Stocks #186058

I think it is more of the ego.

To be honest it is in part why I post as much as I do. I am fairly certain of that. I like to be heard and especially when I am right. It is the same with most posters, in all likelihood. It is pure bullshit to not admit this is part and partial a reason, behind all the posts.

I am an observant person, if aptitude tests have any accuracy. One of things I like to observe (just for the hell of it) is human behavior. In regard to that I especially of recent like to observe the human behavioral characteristics of politicians, company leaders, and joe blow stocks, including board posters, and in about that order.

I've never fit in with the leaders of any of the categories I just noted. I've always been too rebellious and question too many issues to maintain the 'comfort' factor. Tried the management gig at a previous employer for a while. Did just fine with those that reported to me but did poorly with those that were above. We, those who I reported to and I, were in constant disagreement. No loyalty issues as I always carried out orders and always did twice as much work as I had too, just kind of the negative vib type. Sure you know what I mean. On many major issues I was often later proven correct.

Complete honesty and trust worthiness are two characteristics not commonly fulfilled these days. Self indulgence has no problem however.

In regard to board leaders I've recently formed the opinion that many are no better than many regular posters, and that they have a lot in common behavior wise with the current crop of bozos leading many of our major companies. The definition of a board leader and a regular poster is open to debate, and somewhat subjective. You decide. I do reserve the right to change my opinion on this issue, AND I have not negatively categorized everyone.

The big counter move in the general markets and the bull move in gold stocks that occurred this year is partial evidence of my point. How many hit either one, on the nose? Gold stocks have been one of the easiest and surest ways to make money in this present market, yet they are still somewhat shunned. Many board leaders are very good at making a lot of noise, shucking and jiving, and making more noise to cover up their mistakes. Few realize how their noise might actually be damaging to joe blow stocks, and then if it perhaps was, make a lot of noise to readily shuffle some of the blame over to poor ole joe blow. Kind of reminds me of the typical company managerial BS. Today for example they (big companies) are outsourcing our labor, blaming our labor is too high to compete globally. How many at the top have taken big paycuts to help? Statistically it appears not many.

A load of bull you say?

Maybe, then maybe not.

Bottom line in regard to these boards the absolute worst thing anyone can do in this business is to try and play another mans game, in total.

There are a few board leaders I like and appreciate.

Just because I posted this here does not give anyone the right to conclude I have Mr. Hed or anyone else they might think of in the bullshit or bozo category. It would be illogical (but maybe common) to conclude that from what I have recently posted, and I do come here to read. Ratings and opinions are for each and everyone to decide on their own.

Maybe nspolar is full of bullshit. Been known to occur, we all suffer every now and then from synapse collapse. Happens quite regularly to many. nspolar does enjoy getting in the middle of controversial issues, from time to time.

<Plus, trading is a lonely job so some interest in posting comes from boredom too.>

Joe, my thought is that a good trader wastes valuable time with posting, unless they have some alterior motive in mind, like attracting a following and starting a news letter perhaps. Therefore I favor the ego side as a prime motive. Ego and competitiveness are more than likely linked entities, when it comes to posting.

You need to pay more attention. There are many a stock Zeev has made a pretty penny on that was suggested by somebody else. With 8000 or so stocks, how many can one person keep track of. How many relevant news articles can one find and read. And what better way to keep striving to be better than to display the results for all to see. Think discipline. It's very much a two way street.

If you're doing a forecast just for yourself, might you get sloppy and lazy. If hundreds or 10's of hundreds are going to be reading it, you're probably going to triple check your numbers. I don't know why people keep questioning why Zeev does what he does. He has more than once enunciated on it. How blunt does he have to be? Just because some are better than others doesn't mean there are ulterior motives.

One could ponder, is it possible to get better in a vacuum? But better itself insinuates a comparison. Better than what? Is it not the challenge that spurs one on to higher heights? And the challenge of just oneself can get old.
