These small pinnacle reef targets remain unexplored because conventional 3D seismic could not resolve them sufficiently. If 3D seismic was capable of mapping them, all of them would already have been found, drilled, produced, and mostly plugged. The failure of 3D seismic in this pinnacle reef exploration arena has left the door WIDE OPEN for GEO, EDEX, and its partners. A massive effort using 3D seismic was applied to this exploration problem over the last twenty-five years, with the final result being mostly dry holes, and a massive amount of lost exploration dollars.
