I'm not sure if the intention was to update stocks that we trade into, but I'll do it anyways. This was the APNO post from a few days ago on the VMC board. I traded ANSW for APNO (a few days too early).

OS is about 10 million.
Float is less than 2 million.

I quadrupled my position in APNO this past week. I've held the stock for over 3 years now (when it was a shell company). I believe that it is a double (at least) from here. The company is involved in microarrays and macroarrays for medical research. Revenue growth has been solid over the past year despite a slowing in US spending on microarrays, but Europe has more than made up the slack. APNO has an agreement with GE to sell their products.

The company was profitable (slightly) in the 4th quarter, and had a loss of less than $1,000 in the 1Q in their seasonally weakest quarter. I expect them to earn as much as $.05 this year and should double that (at least) next year. They are currently trading below 1X sales. This is a healthcare company!

The recently added a new VP of Operations that came from Molecular Devices (which was bought my MDZ for $615 million). He was in charge of two of their plants and I'm hoping that he has some contacts at both MDZ and in Asia for a greater push of APNO's products in Asia.

They also added a VP of sales in November.

A director recently bought 22,000 shares.

Finally, I also believe they are an acquisition target. The most likely possibility is GE. GE accounted for 33% of APNO's revenue in 1Q07 and it has been growing rapidly.

Catalysts for the stock price include a possible takeout, improved sales and profits as a result of increased international sales, and a turnaround in the US market should also improve the sales numbers.

I plan to do a call with the CEO this coming week. I'll report back with my findings.

For more information, check out the presentation that they did last year.

Someone is gobbling up all the shares that approach a dollar over the past couple weeks and the volume has increased substantially in those two weeks.
