kels...my Scottrade broker said it would take 3 to 6 weeks to get certificates from the TA. I was "assured" my stocks were in good shape and would be available when and if I called for them in certificate form. I was also told not to worry about getting the number I own if I was not using a margin account to buy them. (No shorting) What do I need to worry about if this is the case?

As the mod, I feel it only fair that I set an example, for one, by initiating a request for shares that I have no qualms in holding till the cows come home, or Big Oil buys Hemi holdings...whichever comes first.

If needs be, I may wish to keep in contact with the TA to confirm the Penson request for my certs, which might require Keith giving them clearance to speak with me.

Keith has been doing all that he can to 'make things fall into place'. The shorting still continues. It's time to lend the man a hand.

I own Hemi shares. I wanna SEE Hemi shares. I don't wanna just 'hear' I own Hemi shares...not when there's a ton o' 'airshares' out there.

Granted, no one will ultimately be screwed by owning 'airshares', aside from brokers perhaps, but by initiating what I believe a neccessary step to correcting this dilemma Keith has, I believe it will help bring us one day closer to fair valuation.

The squeeze needs to start, and it needs to start NOW!

Kels, the way I understand it is that your broker doesn't actually have the certs. They work through a MM and the MM keeps the books on the shares they are "supposed" to have. Your brokerage will know WHICH MM has your shares though and when time comes that you request such shares, the broker will then put in a call to the MM telling him he needs x number of the shares the MM has on the books. This is where the problem comes... if the MM doesn't actually have the shares they have to get them which is where the delay comes into play. If you hold a large position or the MM is VERY SHORT then it might take them a while to buy the "real" shares back in order to make the delivery to the brokerage/transfer agent.
