Nice post. I will add that I believe a lot of what Max is espousing comes from the fast food mentality instilled in this nation. The I can't wait, I want my money now.
What is possibly different is the fact that many in countries other than the US and maybe a few other stock market driven countries is that people in most countries know the meaning of patience. They view an investment as many in this country did at one time. My parents and elder relatives bought AT&T, McDonald's, Boeing and others and were willing to hold them for long periods of time. It was a good thing because I have Aunts and Uncles that can afford to pay for their long term critical health needs because they had the forsight to buy and hold. They saved them for their retirement.
I believe this is true of Central America in general. Think about it, they see this comapny that appears to be growing by leaps and bounds. So they invest in it, not based on what is happening in the US stock Market but on what they see happening in their very own country. They are willing to hold it for a year or two or maybe longer. They look at it and think it's cheap at .04 because they see the PDR being worth a dollar of more way down the line, maybe 10 years from now. Only time will tell if they made a good investment or not.
