ljk: I don't think it is unethical to post publicly pmail or email you've received that is harassing and or threatening. It is best to shine the light on these characters for all to see. I am having trouble understanding why you are so reluctant to make these threats and by whom public. It may hurt your credibility to do otherwise.
Of course you also need to involve the police as that would be the best way to get them stopped.
