rheddle, I don't want to bust any bubbles, but Burt Webber found and salvaged the ship on silver shoals in the late 1970's
that you are talking about that sank in 1641.

Rheddle, I got in last spring after reading about their North Carolina project. The "El Salvador" has never been salvaged and carried a whole mess of treasure. We were told over the summer that the El Sal was not a Spanish warship and would not be subject to the 2000 NC court decision regarding La Galga and another ship. I now believe it WOULD be subject to that ruling--and that seems to mean that Spain gets the trez and the salvors get "the part that went over the fence last".
Re: the Concepcion, that's in the Silver Shoals near the Dominican Republic. Wm. Phips partially salvaged it 200 years ago; Burt Webber took a lot more out in 1979; and there's a team working it now (Capt. Ed has met the leader) that's getting into the coral heads that were too tough for the old technology--and finding more treasure.
Jack Haskins is one of the premier researchers in this field. He didn't think there was anything significant at Woman Key, and neither did Mel Fisher.
As far as "the multiple" on these stocks, yowzah yowzah, that's why I got in--but my 2nd TH stock (sold my DPBM in March) is stuck in the Sargasso Sea, figuratively speaking, just as Dip Blew was.
The DB business model seemed sound. WB said the inland jobs would fund the Fun Side of the biz; but someone apparently in the know wrote on the old DB blog to the effect that on the jobs DB works with Jim Cross, not much money comes into the DB coffers--just PR value. This I don't have any certain knowledge about, but that guy's post was disquieting.
Finally, I'm a land Dirtfisherman (Metal Detectorist). When you tell me about how wondrous valuable old coins are, yer preachin' to the choir, Bud. ~8-)
