Stox, I understand that shares outstanding can be calculated as basic or diluted. EPS is generally reported before dilution and after, with the fully diluted EPS being the most reported number. For Market Capitalization, if you are relying on of the numerous quoting services through online brokers or through the various stock exchanges, the calculation is typically based upon undiluted shares outstanding. In essence, if you want to speak the language of the market, then use undiluted shares outstanding to calculate Market Cap, otherwise you are speaking a different language than everyone else.
As for the repurchased shares, I assume they are in Treasury Stock since no retirement has been announced. I would prefer retirement and subsequent reduction in Authorized Shares also. Hope we get a bit of news today, but if we don't there are only 7 more business days until the 15th so the financials will be out before too long anyway. I really want to see how they booked any gain(loss) on the disposition of Evans Systems in the settlement with BA.
