I have never dealt with Geo before. I'm sure they would want to know about a virus though.
For the record. The last thing I did last night before shutting down was to update all of my virus, spam, popup, and spyware programs and run them. I mean for me, it is 'puter houskeeping Saturday after all.
My home page is this page. I logged on this morning and was reading messages. I had not gotten to the NEWS about Saddam yet and had read your posts. I know pretty well what the Q #'s look like so I had skipped going to your link. However, after reading Choad's post about the popup, I had to see it.
Yes, I know. Arrogant and irresponsible on my part. Anyway, them's the facts. I had (as of that time) only been to this page and yours. I saw the same popup Choad described and began to check out the damage. As of now, my popup filter has been disabled and I cannot find the source.
I got with Trend Micro support and downloaded the beta of their next update which has some of the variants of this worm. It was able to fix the antivirus software, but still no help for the popup filter. A "resore" to yesterday's config has not solved the problem.
Understand that I did NOT open the popup. The damage was done automaticaly.
Also understand that I do not consider you responsible for this problem. This is a new virus and nobody has released a fix for it yet.
