Drug-Treated Diabetic Retinopathy Population to Quadruple by 2012
Meteoric Rise of Drug Sales for Retinopathy by 2012 Attributable to Emerging Therapies, According to a New Study from Decision Resources
WALTHAM, Mass., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Decision Resources, Inc., one of the world's leading research and advisory firms focusing on pharmaceutical and health care issues, finds that the drug-treated diabetic retinopathy population will quadruple by 2012.

According to the new Pharmacor study entitled Diabetic Retinopathy, launches of novel drug therapies such as corticosteroid implants, oral PKC inhibitors, somatostatin analogues, and VEGF antagonists will fuel the meteoric rise of retinopathy sales from just under $45 million in 2002 to nearly $700 million in 2012.
