I don't know why I was sure fine with it. I don't know what the big deal is with all this. I think that is a good deal of responsibility and you should keep it and become and asst mod here. But this is up to you. Ask NyBob. I see nothing unprofessional about this.
PQL research does this for the Phgi board and was hired by the company and is a mod there. He was given stock, some tradable and some restricted. Not much to write home about but enough to pay him for being a liason and do research for the company. Nothing wrong with that.
There is nothing wrong with you keeping us filled in on things, like any IR would do. The IR department is not just responsible for submitting Pr's but to answer questions that investors may have. If others had a problem with this and lose their link of communication than that's on them. I appreciate that you had taken on the position.
