I own both in my LT shares and trade both in my ST shares. The difference between the two is:
B shares get 4 votes for the Board of directors where A shares get only 1. Everything else is identical. That means that the B shares should be maybe a few pennies more valuable than the A shares, but you wouldn't know that from their price. In fact at the time of the spinoff, B shares were a few pennies higher than A shares. The problem might be that a lot of the B shares are owned by weak Lucent shareholders that got their shares during the spinoff. In an ideal world, once the weak hands go, they both should at least be par in price. JMHO.
