Syl, be nice. When you don't bait da_cheif or engage that part of him, he can offer some unique insights. However, he can also sling it with the best of them if need be <G>

For all of us here, if we could just stay focused and unemotional, I've found da_cheif can be quite insightful. However, if engaged, he does like to get a rise out of people.
He's like Viagra for some folks!

He's old <G>, and I've learned a lot from experienced people in all walks of life.

You don't learn shit unless you talk to old people. A bunch of my friends and me came to that conclusion when we were in high school. Of course, a 30-year old could have been an old person back then <G>

the article is building a firm case that others are tuning into that the Bear Market didn't even start, actually.

<<On July 30, 2001, at Dow 10,400, strategist's stock allocations were at 71%. Fourteen months later at Dow 8200, only two weeks from the bottom - strategists STILL had 70% allocations to stocks.>>

<<. This is the linchpin of a metamorphosis of the financial markets - and the metamorphosis does not augur well for the future of the U.S. stock market, the world markets, or for Technical Analysis.>>

DW says rates go up to promote inflation..sure in some cases as they were thinking of doing in Japan at one time (maybe did)

rates can also go up because of creditworthiness issues

rates forecast like stocks

the ST rate is controlled and even that is a consequence of underlying..when corp profits and eco overheat, the ST rate is used to cool things

am i missing something here?
