Elmer, I think Keith is referring to common knowledge based on current rumors. For frequency, many have reported that AMD will launch at 2.3GHz, which is very low compared to Clovertown, which will be at 3.0GHz. As for only being competitive in certain floating point heavy benchmarks, it's just coinciding with AMD's pontification of the SPECfp_rate benchmark above all the others that they might have used instead.
