The FT folks are fairly sharp. I'm glad someone caught on. Here is the reply I got from the reporter at MarketWatch,

"That 13% number that you just cited is for an entire quarter, whereas the 6.3% figure is for one day -- Friday --
only. A better comparison for you will come next Thursday, when Wal-Mart
releases sales data (net and same-store) for the month of November.

Yup, it really helps. I have less and less confidence in the media everyday. Hey, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe WMT comes out with a correction tomorrow saying that was for same stores...nahhhhh! Amazing!
