In the interim there would have been a chance for the accused parties to make settlement/plea agreements.
I guess there were no settlements acceptable to the OSC so the hearing is going ahead in July.

Are you referring to the OSC commissioners? Most likely, the only lawyers being paid by the hour (CHA CHING) to be in those hearings are the ones representing PV and the companies. Pretty sure the bureaucrats are salaried government employees (no hourly CHA CHING there).

Tom Anderson, the lead investigator for the OSC had said in his affidavit that he needed six more months to complete the investigation, so this extension should come as no surprise to anyone. They probably set the hearing today on the chance that the OSC/RCMP investigation may have been completed sooner than six months.
