Seems like most heating is occurring at the northern hemisphere. Directly related to incoming "solar forcing" (penetration of the crown of the magnetosphere by cosmic rays) and and Gakkel Ridge activity? Most human CO2 producing activity is in the northern Hemispheres as well.

Solar activity is up considerably in the last century. That affects all systems within the heliosphere.

The electromagnetic forces coming in at the galactic levels also affect plate tectonics. We are also in a strange and unique place in space. Passing through the corpse of a collapsed supernova burst.
