I'm still trying to wrap my head around a lot of things in "stock world", but wouldn't that be diluting the stock then though? If the shorts just have to cover, the O/S would stay the same, which would be better for a CEO that took his pay in the form of stock, right?

If someone did that to my company, I sure wouldn't be cutting any deals with them if I had a chance to hold them over the fire!! But maybe that's just me. :)

IMO Garr should make the MM's cover any NSS on the open market since their salaries are tied to the share price. Making the MM's buy on the open market would make their stock packages be worth more. And, since the MM's have been trying to ruin the company, why help them? Any MM's that Garr has been courting are probably ones that were not short the company stock. That's just my opinion...I could be wrong.

In continuation....Garr bases his financials on 3.5 billion for the EPS. If he got cash from the MMs for the 1 billion, that would make the true O/S 4.5 billion and would increase his assets from the cash received from the MMs and in all probability not affect the bottom line. Garr's current financials do not take the current NSS into consideration. Seems we got a war going on here between Garr and his buyback and the MMs covering a possible NSS. Should be fun...

That would constitute a capital crime in the corporate world. The penalties are severe.

The last thing we need now is conspiracy theories that divide our ranks against the MM's. It's okay to think it and okay to post it (1st amendment) but please no one run out and sell all your shares. You'll only hurt yourself and in effect become a MM without the profit...destroying a company but without the monetary gain. It's a good thought, it's a capital crime, Garr wouldn't do it, and it's a bad time to consider it on a wednesday night right before a CUSIP...hold tight - stay the course. Where is that darn'ed Saint Crispins Day Speech when you need it - "Man will think of themselves less a man for not fighting with us this day on the Ides of March (march 15) when CHNW sticks it to the MM's and allows a stock to actually reach a price it should without NSS...." More later - My kids have to use the computer...

Well, I guess it comes down to, Do you think Winters would do that. By his own words he despises the shorts.

If one looks at his record so far. He has backed up each promise he has made to this point. From the name and cusip change, to the Forex roll out. Each one is or will be completed as promised. That says a lot about the mans character if you ask me.

So why now, after stating that he wants to beat the shorts, would he then go to bed with them.

I understand that you are just throwing this out for conversation reasons. I however, based on what I have seen with Garr's word Vs what actually happens. If he says he wants to hurt the shorts, I believe that is what he will stick too.

Just my two cents
