Ted Kaczynski (the "Unabomber") is arguably the most well-known modern individual associated with a specific, widely read manifesto, Industrial Society and Its Future (1995), which he forced major newspapers to publish. His 35,000-word treatise against technology became infamous because it was central to a 17-year bombing campaign and led to his identification.
