Like Venezuela, installing a new leader via the US, (not so unlike the shah) may well not be the best option, nor forcing an election so to speak.....
Weakening a regime and letting time take it's course with consequences in the back of their mind if they don't could we'll be the best of all options.......A more modern coup, eventually letting the will of the people chose........Every single dem leader has expressed that Iran as it was is a danger.....
