Rubio Delivers for America First: Slashes Citizenship Exit Fee, Cracks Down on Anti-American Visitors

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is making it crystal clear: America is for those who love it, not those who hate it or exploit it.
In a major win announced this week, Rubio's State Department slashed the fee to renounce U.S. citizenship by 80 percent, dropping it from the punishing $2,350 down to just $450. This ends years of bureaucratic gouging that hit expats and accidental Americans hard, often tied to outdated FATCA rules that punished U.S. citizens living abroad.

The move removes a financial barrier for anyone who truly wants out—good riddance. As one sharp observer put it, make it as easy as possible for foreigners who don't like America to revoke their citizenship and leave.

Rubio isn't stopping there. He's going hard on visa enforcement to protect national security. In a recent press statement, he laid it out plain:
"I've said this repeatedly. I don't know why it's so hard for some to comprehend. So let me repeat again: A visa—no one is entitled to a visa. There are not constitutional rights to have a visa, okay? A visa is the permission to enter our country as a visitor.

If you enter our country as a visitor—and as a visitor in our country, be that student, tourist, journalists, whatever you want—you undertake activities that are against national interests, the national security of the United States, we will take away your visa.

In fact, if we knew you were going to do it, we probably wouldn't have given you your visa in the first place."
No more playing games. Under Rubio, visas are a privilege, not a right—and if you abuse our hospitality to push anti-American agendas, you're out. This is straightforward, common-sense policy that puts America and its security first. Finally, leadership that gets it. 🇺🇸
