Assuming they do get around to auguring the pits (surface grabs not good enough), it will be interesting to see if they can find assayers like Shah or Jordan. If not, they'd be well served to see if they could scare up some Pt or maybe even some Rh (That might pose some problems) to add it what little bit of gold they could salvage from their teeth---for the obligatory salting.....
