It is hard to imagine how much China can do until you have been there and seen it. It is staggering how big the country is and how fast they move compared to most any place else in the world. It doesn't mean that they can or cannot replicate spider silk at scale quickly, it only means they are formidable and it feels like they have endless resources.

As soon as there is serious defense interest in our materials with the fact that we are a US company means competition from China will be good for us. Our govt will ensure preferential treatment. Just noticed TruthisaTool posted the same point in another post - couldn;t agree more....

"Good thing my logic centered around the honeypot that KBLB is really targeting (military, medical, technical). I could care less about the clothing aspect."

agreed...

"And if it were a 1–2 year problem, it would already be solved globally."

i didnt say it was a 1-2 year problem...i said the chinese, for years, have been doing the same research that kblb has been doing...my estimation is that they have 1 or 2 years left before they can do what we are now doing...theres a reason that kim said the only thing that would keep him up nights is the Chinese...

arachnodude, quote,

"And if it were a 1–2 year problem, it would already be solved globally. It’s been a ‘holy grail’ for decades for a reason. Everyone knew how to make silk. Nobody could make spider silk at scale. That’s the entire point."

A very true and accurate observation.
