When the government rolls out an open ended contract with a ceiling value of $151 billion, we all know that isn't the ceiling, especially if the vendors start producing a good product.

As always, there will be cost over runs that could double that ceiling. But $151 billion is a good start. If the project yields results, and the government wants to maintain dominance and superiority in this emerging field, more money will be poured into it, especially if there are uses beyond military applications.

Remember, many discoveries come from military research and investment, always trying to maintain an edge with our enemies. Then these discoveries filter down to everyday civilian uses and applications. Once that happens, it opens another door for research and investment from the private sector.

In my opinion, this is all good news for IONQ and the quantum sector in general.
