is that Jules Taub is the pseudonym for Julius Bihari, who w his brothers
owned Modern Records.The royalties for a song belong to the writer & the publisher, equally.
I'm sure Modern owned the publishing company and taking half of the writers royalty left Roy
Hawkins w only 25% of what he owned in its entirety, prior to making a sheisty deal to get it released.
It's the same with Nesuhi Ertegun, who along w his brother owned Atlantic Records. He has in the past
claimed co-ownership of What I Say, with Ray Charles. A sack of heroin went a long way in Ray Charles'
career. Draw your own conclusions.
Yes, it is a terribly exploitive business. I witnessed this shit first hand for many years.

you can add Aladdin Records & the Meisner Brothers to the long list
of crooks who exploited black talent.
This one was released in the same year as The Thrill is Gone, in the
"genre" known as RACE MUSIC.
