NFLX special meeting on March 20

07:55 AM EST, 02/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Netflix (NFLX) said on Tuesday that Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has filed a definitive proxy statement and scheduled a special meeting on March 20 to approve Netflix's acquisition of the company.

"Netflix has consistently taken a constructive, responsive approach with [Warner], in stark contrast to Paramount Skydance (PSKY)," Netflix said.
The streaming giant said it is "confident" in the "superior value and certainty" of its deal with Warner and gave Warner a "seven-day waiver of certain obligations" under their agreement to engage with Paramount "to fully and finally resolve this matter."

In a separate statement Tuesday, Warner said it will engage with Paramount to seek a "best and final" takeover offer, but its board continues to recommend the company's merger with Netflix.
