These upcoming changes and I are clearly not going to be a good fit. I've been moderating boards here for over twenty years, including some real doozies. The thing I most admired about IHub was its insistence that stock boards be about the stock and not forums for attacking others. As a mod I struggled with the new permissiveness which was instituted in 2024 just a few days after I renewed my three-year paid membership. Had I known what was coming I would not have renewed. Up until now I've kept my struggle with the new rules to myself. That new permissiveness, at least on my boards, led exactly where I knew it would. Previous offenders simply tested to see how much more they could get away with under the new rules. I have no doubt they will continue to do so and the feuding will now just get uglier and more frequent. But as a mod under these latest rules I would not be able to remove those posts. I would just be there to classify such posts and leave it to the readers to decide what filters to set on their reading. That's IHub's prerogative if that's the way they want to go. I'm sure they have their reasons. But here's the rub. As a mod I would still have to read it all, but without the ability to remove any of it. No, thanks. I'll leave it to others who might be interested. If I want to be disgusted and feel powerless I can simply turn on the news. So today I've removed myself from my final mod position. I just needed this final push.

You and me both. I have no plans to “tag” anything. Seems this is the next step in iHub joining the cesspool of unmoderated online chat forums. Perhaps it is a financial necessity.

But it’s clear that iHub now values the participation of pumper clowns now focused on personal attacks than anything to do with actual discussion about a company.

I use to think iHub had a differentiator in its moderation.

I guess smarter people than me see it differently.
