It's not deployable but advanced. They are still working on net gain. Verson10 this summer. Alpha 1.5 years. Beta 2.5 years, then deployable. They are ahead on their 5 year plan from what I can gather. This is current status.
This is very advanced research, and yes, there is high confidence in the technology at this point. But look at how long it takes Elon Musk to build a starship. To say it's "deployable" means it can launch to Mars tomorrow. There is still a lot of development here.
