If they can fix the hallucination problems for good, then AI will be--and to some extent already is--extremely useful for analyzing enormous amounts of data. Stuff that would take people, or earlier systems, years to do.
I think AI, like most new things, will turn out to be great for some stuff, but not for other stuff. It won't be the answer to everything.
