I would actually disagree. They got what they deserved no more no less. They messed up bad.

AIG was not a scapegoat

AIG was reckless - gambled and lost big time -- all on its own

F and F were scapegoats and used. AIG was a corporation that was TBTF but deserved to fail on the basis of bad management
