If KBLB prices Spydasilk at $500 to $2,000 per kilo, they won't sell much.  They won't even sell much at $300 per kilo.  If KBLB can get decent volume at $100/kilo for luxury items, we should all count ourselves lucky.  Given the current overhead, his profit margin at $100/kilo will be tight.
I wish people had a little exposure to supply and demand curves from economics.  "If Thompson could just sell 1 kilo for a hundred billion dollars, we'd all be rich!"  Regrettably, no one is going to pay that much.  The demand at $2,000 per kilo won't sustain metric ton production quantities.  I don't think $500 per kilo will, either.
Econ 101, at your friendly community college.  Ask your instructor to help you with those hard "graphs."  Supply and demand plots have TWO lines on them.  Horrors!
