It could have been an inside job too, if Cheryl was feeling threatened. Just have the pool boy 'accidentally' leave a gate or two open and voila, no more emu.
I'm not sure I got the whole story. But Toby is said to have been eaten by a mountain lion.
Toby was killed by the mountain lion. I'm sure there was some meat left (unless the lion dragged him away) that rfk would just treat Toby like any road kill he'd scrape up for dinner.
