Do you bother to get in line and pay those high prices (just asking; a few months ago I was at a small-time race-car event, and without guilt refused to get in line for any of the over-priced drinks and 'food' (where 'food' is in quotes, for who knows if it was really edible)?
Obviously, some people at games/events do pay concession-stand high-prices, but not all of them. Those Ball Arena articles about price-cuts indicates that there is a that-price-is-too-high point even for the sake of convenience. Those too-high prices lose part of the captive-consumer market.
