Yep, no point in debating trolls as him. That said, i've said before they do serve one function in that in fact checking them i've often come across decent articles which i might have missed if it hadn't been for the misinformation one of them had posted.
I go to some effort in reply to them sometimes also as a means of reminders of stuff and the posts i make are for myself and others much more than for the troll because we know they don't give a damn about any of the truth anyway.
