Exactly. If these shares aren’t worth $30+ and the dividends that would go along with a $30 company then it’s worth pennies per share. Either give shares value that can be discovered by dividends otherwise they are a pointless exercise of stupidity when you know the government will just steal back the 5% they pretended they gave back to the markets. If shareholders aren’t excited and giddy there will be no one interested in buying. Why would 80% of $600B not be enough? If they push and take 95% that means they introduce what 20 billion shares? That would undoubtably leave shares trading at $5 if they are lucky. That compresses PE significantly and crushes the valuation of their holdings. Yeah they’d get a bigger % of dividends but who cares about a few billion in dividends when you could have had $100B+ more in equity valuation. There is no reason for the government not to be aligned with shareholders when they own 80% to the shareholders 20%. Anything good for the shareholders comes back to the government 4 fold. This isn’t difficult math people.
