Ah now, would ye listen to the talk of that Aleksandr Dugin lad, carryin’ on with his grand notions about Russian rule stretchin’ “from Dublin to Vladivostok”! Jaysus, the cheek of it. As if the Irish—after all the centuries we’ve spent shakin’ off one empire or another—would just hand over the keys of Dublin Castle to Moscow with a smile and a curtsey.

We’d sooner see the Liffey run dry than let some foreign ideologue lay claim to our wee island. Russia’s a fine vast country in its own right, and no shortage of fields to tend there, I’m sure—but Dublin belongs to the Irish, heart and soul, and that’s the end of it.
