As will I. Sheesh. Sherman Adams accepted a vicuña coat and he was fired. More recent government officials have done much better for themselves, but after their years of government service were over. Trump is just so unquenchably greedy.
You know, we could have spared ourselves nearly all of this. Back in 2020, I wondered if it was a good idea to go after Trump. One failed impeachment was probably enough. The second should have succeeded, but didn't. And then as soon as Biden took office, he found himself facing a zillion lawsuits, criminal and civil. He HAD to win in 2024, or he really might have gone to prison.
And he would have deserved it. But trying to make it happen was an enormous mistake. Back in early 2024, I don't think he was all that enthusiastic about running. He seemed tired. He didn't have much of a platform; most of what's happened since his inauguration was unexpected, at least in its degree.
We should just have given him a lot of money to go away.
