Seems there are some poisonous plants in Australia that can cause itchy rashes:

This seems to be our best bet:

Rhus or wax tree (Toxicodendron succedaneum)

It is a flowering plant species found notably found in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Rhus or wax trees can trigger strong allergy reactions, causing itchiness and skin blisters over a week or longer.

Weeding as cause is a thought as the id reaction stuff is. I've gone through two tubes of hydrocortisone for no joy. Have pretty much decided tubes as those could work on suitable small area itch, but aren't really suitable for treating an area as big as a medium size body.

Forgot to include the baking powder bath could have helped a bit. Didn't knock me down as much as the colloidal oatmeal bath.
