You may claim to have been investing a long time, but
1st of all, as was explained, just doing a forward split does NOT
double the market cap. Basic math applies.
2nd, doing a split does not guarantee a doubling of the market
cap. For the companys activities (ie, revenues/sales/profits)
have to JUSTIFY it to some of us. Its NOT a given.
As of this morn, with 8.7 Mil shares outstanding at $45.5 (call it there),
the current market cap is $396 Million.
The current 'professional' (sic) target price is $61. Thats a market cap of
$530 Million.
Thats only a 34% increase over the current.
So to close, yes, historically a forward split is rewarded with increased demand
for the shares cause folks BELIEVE they are cheap. When far too often, the split is
done to MAKE FOLKS BELIEVE the shares are now a good buy.
But even there it does NOT guarantee a doubling of the market cap. Hell, at best
you have to hope that folks don't recognize that its even more over valued and a sell off takes
place.
I recommend folks be patient and see what IF any revision happens to the market cap post
the decision IF its approved. Hell, you do a split now and it would be a waste since there is
still that decision pending. Doing it AFTER the decision IF approved, would be the best time.
Mercy..
