I never said that KBLB had to make 60 batches, nor was there any indication that KBLB was limited to existing facilities. I think you need to take a remedial reading class. When your days are filled with reading fry orders off a monitor, understanding anything more nuanced than '2 large, 1 medium fry' might seem complicated.
My point: the amount of silk reeled announced in this latest PR was only 1/60th of the amount they indicated they would need for their first release. It is unimpressive.
I also indicated that it wasn't clear what the limiting factor was in this reeling effort. They could have done a test run of 250 kilos from a larger batch. Or this could be a small batch where most of the effort was done to increase the parental lines, not silk production. We don't know. Just as I indicated.
I do believe that KBLB is being deliberately vague about the state of their production operation. We don't know the yield rate of reeling, but KBLB could have put the reeled silk on a scale and weighed it, then reported that amount. They could have indicated this was a test run from a larger batch. As is typical of KBLB, they are providing misleading breadcrumbs along a trail, rather than telling it straight. Whenever I ask 'Why?,' the answers are never flattering for KBLB.
