<< I believe this 1st customer order >>

KBLB has NEVER stated that there was an "order".

What they said is that there was a "material request", which is probably a request for a sample swatch.

the Company has now accumulated approximately one-third of the total spider silk required to fulfill a material request

You are confusing silkworm cocoons with reeled silk.  Today's PR clearly stated that KBLB processed 250 kilos of silkworm cocoons.  The yield of silk is between 10% and 15%.  Splitting the difference at 12.5%, KBLB would have collected 31 kilos of silk.  The range is between 25 kilos and 37 kilos.
KBLB never stated their 1st order would be for 5 metric tons of silk, nor did they ever report being 1/3 of the way towards their goal.  They indicated they wanted 1.5 metric tons before shipping the silk out.  37 kilos is a drop in the bucket when measured against that goal.
BTW, it seems likely that KBLB is reporting numbers based on silkworm cocoons to deliberately mislead investors.  After the silk has been reeled, it's quite easy to measure the weight of the silk.  Put it on a scale.  They could have reported the reeled weight as easily as they reported the cocoon weight.  But that number is not as impressive, so KBLB appears to be choosing to provide a misleading number as a way to make it seem they are further along than they actually are.
