As you noted the big buyer of FNMFO spent $55 million to acquire it. The face value of that acquisition is 1,300x100,000 = $130,000,000. IMO the buyer went for a quick turnaround on a sure thing. But, it's hard for me to speculate on the working of a mind that has access to that kind of money and inside information.
