I honestly don't think he has a clear idea what the fuck he's talking about.
That's what having a lousy education does for you. He could take some community college classes on economics and learn a couple of things but he's one of those guys that thinks he knows everything about everything. That's why he's so obviously envious of Janice....she's highly educated, curious and does her research. All the things he isn't and can't do.
