Because it is hard to short a story stock, I only have a small short position (about 1% of portfolio). And my short is still slightly underwater. But some day reality will dawn on the Musk fan club that he won't be able to pull the rabbit out of the hat. He's trying to sell a future of robo-taxis and autonomous robots. But there are three western companies and at least 2 chinese companies that are technically superior in autonomous driving. And his optimus robot is not even top 5.
It will take a long time for the stock to deflate, but deflate it must.
r59: I travel in a high income area where there are a lot of Teslas on the road, or I should say, were a lot of Teslas. After all of the DOGE nonsense, people stopped driving them. I am starting to see a few new Teslas on the road again. For all we know, the company could be in big trouble.
