#534347 RE: blackhawks #534346

Something must have been getting close for the DOJ throwing their two cents in on Monday of this week when the case has been there since April. If the SC was going to punt it, why didn't they do it back then?

I know you like your nifty chat bots. I like to ask questions of myself, seek the answers on my own and read between the lines. There's a lot of nuance between black and white.

There is currently no scheduled date for the U.S. Supreme Court to hear Ghislaine Maxwell’s appeal. As of mid-July 2025, the Department of Justice has formally urged the Court to reject Maxwell's petition to overturn her conviction. The government's response to her petition was filed by July 14, 2025, but the Court has not indicated whether it will take the case or set it for argument.

We may never hear much of anything more about it. What Maxwell has done is to submit a petition for a writ of certiorari to the Supremes. Typically, they get about 8,000 such petitions a year, and agree to hear about 80 of those cases. So unless they decide to grant cert in Maxwell's case, we'll only learn that the petition was denied. And that is the end of the road.

As the bot told you, the DOJ does not want the Supreme Court to agree to hear the case.
