President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be congratulating themselves on U.S. support for the genocidal destruction of Gaza, the death of over 57,000 people, the vast majority of whom were civilians, an aid blockage that threatens the rest of the population with starvation, and the brutal occupation of the West Bank, but in the United States and on the world stage, Israel is losing the war. Trump keeps announcing that a ceasefire to facilitate humanitarian aid and as a step towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict is imminent and Netanyahu pretends to be interested, but the reality is that Netanyahu only wants a temporary cessation of hostilities to get hostages returned before he resumes the war on Gaza and that Trump is wedded to Netanyahu.
In June, Zohan Mamdani won the New York City Democratic Party nomination for mayor and he is the heavy favorite in the November election despite Islamophobic attacks on his identification as a Moslem and a well-financed campaign to discredit him because of his belief in equal justice for Palestinians. For most voters, especially younger voters, the most important issue in the mayoral primary was making New York City more affordable for ordinary people. The attacks on Mamdani fell flat because voters are not rallying to a defense of Israel’s war on Gaza, occupation of the West Bank, and mistreatment of Arabs.
Recent public opinion polls show that there is a similar trend in the United States. Traditionally, a large majority of Democrats sympathized with Israel over Palestinians but a February Gallup poll found that Democrats sympathized with Palestinians over Israel by a margin of 38% points. This shift was confirmed by a survey reported on in The Economist where 46% of Democrats wanted the United States to reduce military aid to Israel.
According to a recent poll conducted by the Pew Research Center, more than half of U.S. adults (53%) have an unfavorable opinion of Israel and almost 70% view Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu negatively. Globally, three-quarters or more of the people interviewed in Australia, Greece, Indonesia, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Turkey have negative views of Israel as a result of its brutal war on Gaza. Younger people are the most likely to have unfavorable views of Israel especially in higher-income countries like Australia, Canada, France, Poland, South Korea, and the U.S.
In an attempt to silence international criticism of the United States and Israel, Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently announced the United States would impose sanctions against Francesca Albanese, an Italian lawyer and United Nations consultant on human rights violations in Israeli occupied Palestinian territories. Albanese recommended that the International Criminal Court investigate U.S. companies and issue arrest warrants against the Israeli Prime Minister and the former defense minister for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Trump has already issued an Executive Order barring anyone associated with the International Criminal Court from entering the United States. Albanese recently delivered a report to the U.N. Human Rights Council detailing profits made by United States companies and their subsidiaries including Lockheed Martin, Caterpillar, Chevron, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Google (Alphabet), Amazon, Blackrock, and Vanguard from their support of Israel’s military and the war on Gaza. The report also accused the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of having reaped financial benefits from research conducted in support of the Israeli military.
Because Israel bars foreign journalist from unrestricted coverage of its war on Gaza, the outside world depends on international medical personnel volunteering in Gaza for accurate reports on what is taking place there. British doctor Victoria Rose, a plastic surgeon, recently spent three weeks in Gaza treating people with major injuries, including children, who were shot while trying to get food. Since June 1, over 700 Palestinians have killed and about 5,000 injured in shootings near food distribution sites operated by Israel and American private security contractors. Dr. Rose described a health system under “extreme pressure” overwhelmed by efforts to help people with traumatic injuries including “unsurvivable” burns caused by Israeli bombs. According to Dr. Rose, at the emergency room in Nassar Hospital where she was working “Children were coming in with knees missing and feet missing and hands missing.” https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2025/7/13/2333225/-Israel-is-Losing-the-War-on-Gaza?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=latest_community&pm_medium=web
So you are saying those two, a former top law official and a former top intelligence guy:
Some Israel scholars and former Israeli officials have also started using this designation. In 2022, Michael Ben-Yair, a former attorney general of Israel, said that “it is with great sadness ... I must also conclude that my country has sunk to such political and moral depths that it is now an apartheid regime.” Earlier this year, Tamir Pardo, a former head of Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency, emphasized, too, that “there is an apartheid state here” featuring “two people [who] are judged under two legal systems.” https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=175568377 also .. https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=176431303
would not be as aware of the history there as you are. Or that those to accomplished Jews hold racist views against their own people.
"Only people truly ignorant of history, or racists (more likely) would classify Israel as an "apartheid state"
Not surprised your reasoning there is so fucked up.
