The Government of Tamaulipas and the National Gas Control Center ( Cenegas ) signed a collaboration agreement to develop joint projects in research, technological development, and human capital training in the field of natural gas.
As an honorary witness, Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya (Morena) signed the document and mentioned, in his message, Tamaulipas ' historic contribution to the energy sector, as the state is the nation's leading energy producer.
Proof of this is that this northern state can develop 60 percent of the country's energy potential, in addition to being a national benchmark in the generation of non-polluting renewable energy.
"There are plans through the Ministry of Energy to be able to welcome and incorporate companies that want to join and work with the State and Federal Governments to establish themselves. I am confident that, soon, we will also be the state with the highest energy production, through sustainable wind and photovoltaic energy , because we have the favorable geographical and location conditions for this to happen," he said.
And Cenegas' general director, Cuitláhuac García, reiterated President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo 's support for projects in Tamaulipas, such as the Reynosa bypass gas pipeline, and recognized the work of Governor Américo Villarreal, because "the transformation is already beginning to be palpable in this state," he asserted.
Additionally, he announced that President Sheinbaum Pardo authorized an investment of 12.8 billion pesos during her six-year term for natural gas projects throughout the country, which is in addition to the 29.9 billion pesos, for a total investment of 42.7 billion pesos allocated to the operation, maintenance, rehabilitation, and expansion of the interconnected gas pipelines known as SISTRANGAS.
"We have to raise our hands. I believe Tamaulipas has that interest, and we're going to support them in whatever they need," he offered.
At the time, Walter Julián Ángel Jiménez , Secretary of Energy Development for the State, mentioned that, under the leadership of Governor Américo Villarreal, the energy system and its proper development in Tamaulipas have a very special component to meet the objectives of the State Development Plan.
He said that by using energy as a lever for development, Tamaulipas will generate projects that have never been seen elsewhere, such as the strategic underground storage of natural gas, known as the Brasil field.
